BORDERLINE
CRAZIES
Written by
Leo W. Sears
Produced by
special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
Ellen hopes to ski
and put some spark into her dull marriage to
Stu, an efficiency author, while at Lake
Tahoe in a rustic cabin owned by Stu's
publisher. They are startled when a horror
author and his sexy wife also arrive at the
apparently double-booked cabin. The women
immediately bond but the men squabble like
spoiled two-year-olds and devise several
wagers to determine who stays and who goes.
Before anyone can leave, a poli...ce
officer reports that a snowstorm has closed
the roads and an axe murderer is on the
loose. Stranded with no phone, no television
and no radio, the writers may kill each
other before the murderer gets to them. It's
an avalanche of laughter with more twists
and turns than a giant slalom.

BORDERLINE CRAZIES
- A Comedy by Leo W. Sears
Two writers, one an efficiency expert, the other
a horror writer, along with their wives end up
unexpectedly together in a Lake Tahoe cabin
owned by their publisher. The wives get along
dandily, but the writers mix together like oil
and water. The four become stranded in the cabin
due to a snowstorm. Throw in an escaped ax
murderer and a couple plot twists to stir things
up even more and you've got an avalanche of
craziness!
MAR
2 – APR
7 CABARET -
The
Musical.
Set in
1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power,
it focuses on
nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub
and revolves around the 19-year-old
English
cabaret
performer
Sally Bowles
and her relationship with the young
American
writer Cliff Bradshaw.
A sub-plot
involves the doomed romance between
German
boarding house owner Fräulein
Schneider and her elderly suitor
Herr Schultz, a
Jewish
fruit vendor. Overseeing the action
is the Master of Ceremonies at the
Kit Kat Klub which serves as a
constant metaphor for the tenuous
and threatening state of late
Weimar Germany
throughout the show.

MAY 26 FRANKLY SCARLETT, YOU'RE
DEAD!
- A Murder Mystery Parody!
Welcome to Sassafras, the ancestral plantation
home of the Simpson family. Colonel Simpson has
asked you here tonight to celebrate the upcoming
marriages of his daughters, Scarlett and Melody.
The Colonel is delighted about the impending
nuptials, and will be even happier when he
actually finds two young men willing to marry
the girls. After all, eligible young men are
scarce these days. War is looming on the
horizon, and Yankee spies are everywhere. The
only single gentlemen around seem to be the
Pinkney boys, and let’s face it, they are a bit
odd. And we can’t forget Brett Rutgers, a
gambler of vague origins, and questionable
repute. These gentlemen may not be a perfect
match for the girls, but, in these trying times,
who can wait for perfect. So sit back, enjoy the
party, and keep your eyes open for stray bullets
and Yankee spies!
JUN 8 – JUL 14 NO
SEX PLEASE, WE'RE BRITISH - A Comedy
by Anthony Marriott and Alistair Foot.
The farce surrounds an assistant bank manager,
Peter Hunter, who lives above his bank with his
new bride Frances. When Frances innocently sends
a mail order off for some Scandinavian
glassware, what comes back is Scandinavian
pornography. The two, along with the bank's
frantic chief cashier Brian Runnicles, must
decide what to do with the veritable floods of
pornography, photographs, books, films and
eventually girls that threaten to engulf this
happy couple. The matter is considerably
complicated by the presence of Eleanor (Peter's
mother), Mr. Bromhead (his boss), Mr. Needham (a
visiting bank inspector), and Vernon Paul (a
police superintendent).

The Theatre
The RiverBelle Dinner
Theatre began operations in 2007 in the
converted Old Town Grainery Building in
Mount Vernon, Washington, at 100 E. Montgomery
by sole owner Wendy Bell.
Each musical or comedy is self produced using
local actors under the direction of Ms. Bell and
the exceptional artistic company of P.O.P.S.
(Performers of Puget Sound). During the
first year, Ms. Bell has significantly
raised the level of production values on stage
in Skagit County and has caused a "buzz"
in Washington resulting in a higher caliber of
actor wanting to work at the RiverBelle.
This coupled with newer musicals being released
to regional theatres gives cause for a whole lot
of excitement and fun. There is always something
happening at the RiverBelle.
A season formula was developed calling for a
musical revue, new musicals or interactive
comedies each season, no heavy DRAMA just great
fun. If you haven't seen the RiverBelle
lately, you haven't seen the RiverBelle.
We have not just broken, but crashed through,
all barriers on our way to becoming the top
dinner theatre in our region.
Let's take a journey that will allow you to
visualize your experience at the
RiverBelle. As you enter our property
you are directed to park for free. When you
enter the theatre, you are greeted and escorted
to your table. The New York Supper Club
atmosphere may prompt a smile or at least
confirmation that the right decision has been
made. The attentiveness of our service staff
will cause you to relax and provide guidance to
the evening’s entertainment. Enjoy fresh salad,
warm rolls, vegetables and a delicious meal
prepared by an experienced Master Chef
froum local caterers depending on the theme
that our show dictates. You will also be tempted
by our chef’s choice for dessert. And, if you
care for a drink we offer full bar service. Then
the curtain rises and it is time to sit back and
enjoy a musical or comedy equal to any touring
production you will see in the area.
Patrons can enjoy Dinner and Show for one low
ticket price or take advantage of dessert and
show reservations. The entire building is
non-smoking and handicap accessible.
Red carpet treatment awaits motorcoach tour
groups - the underpinning of the
RiverBelle business. Upon arrival, all
motorcoaches are personally greeted by
management staff. We love motorcoaches and adore
the guests that come with the coaches. The
RiverBelle works closely with all
groups and can provide overnight entertainment
packages from one to three nights that include
Northwest Washington’s finest hotels and popular
attractions.
The State of Washington, as well as the Mount
Vernon community, has welcomed the
